Being born and raised in San Diego, I have been to more Mexican food places then I can count. But this one is memorable. One of the best burritos I've ever had... I might even bring the family here sometime for a little road trip. It's not hard to get to, but it is off the beaten path. Highly recommend!
Definitely a taco "dive," but the food is consistently good. The portions are big and the people are nice...what else can you ask?
I was searching for some different food than the choices at Harrahs Casino and found Jilbertos. A true hold in the wall, but good variety of Mexican food with large portions at a reasonable price point. You can tell that this is a popular spot based on the number of locals eating here or getting takeout. I'll need to organize a party at the hotel so that I can order the monster burrito that looks like it will feed 20 people.
It's our go to Mexican food when we have a craving for their fish tacos, rolled tacos and Chili Verde plate! The service is always excellent and they are very friendly and patient when we place our orders! This place is always busy which shows why it is a favorite in Valley Center.
Could be the best surf and turf burrito in San Diego county. And the salsas are all good every time I'm around the area I make sure I get one.
Always consistent. Always exactly what you ordered and how it looks in the pics mostly. I judge a lot of Mexican restaurants by their refried beans and theirs are as good as homemade.
Stopped here by chance on our way down from Palomar mountain, food was great! Highly recommend. Tortillas were soft and warm. Will def be back next time we're out this way!
I have had carne asada burritos here that are better than long established high end Mexican restaurants. And on the weekends - the Birria is as good or better than places in Mexico. Service is excellent efficient and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Ambiance ? Heck there's zero. It's in the back of a liquor store.
Consistently excellent Mexican food. The rolled tacos are the best. The kids love the carne asada fries and the burritos and large and filling!
